Copeland's 'The Invention of Morel' Opera Set for West Coast Premiere

Based on La Invención de Morel, the 1940 novel of Argentine author, Adolfo Bioy Casares, the opera is sci-fi/love story set on a lonely island, but with a twist. Composed by Copeland, The Invention of Morel is a co-commission by Long Beach Opera and Chicago Opera Theater.

Three performances are scheduled at the Beverly O'Neill Theater in Long Beach, California. The first being Saturday, March 17 at 7:30pm with additional performances on Saturday, March 24 at 7:30pm and Sunday, March 25 at 2:30pm.
